No one ever thinks of farmland, the gorgeous lakes and mountains, the Jersey shore, the hiking trails, the nature. All we ever hear about is the dirty reputation, which just isn’t warranted or fair.

Jersey City to host July 4 concert, Hudson River fireworks viewing
Jersey City is planning a Fourth of July festival and concert on Thursday ahead of the fireworks display on the Hudson River. Fat Joe, Wyclef Jean and Funk Flex will headline the concert, which starts at 1 p.m. and continues with the headliners starting at 6:10 p.m., according to an announcement made on Monday. A street festival will kick off the festivities at noon with more than 80 local artisans and food vendors.

O’Dea Calls on State to Dedicate Pompidou Funds to Jersey City Parks
County Commissioner and mayoral candidate Bill O’Dea is calling on the state to dedicate funds previously set aside for the Pompidou x museum to Jersey City’s parks. “I am calling on the state to allocate the $24 million [in] funds that were set aside for the Pompidou museum to be used for our city parks like Country Village, Pershing Field and Caven Point field. There currently exist plans to upgrade these facilities and others but the funding to do so has not been secured.”
