    How To Vote In Florida! Make Sure You Are Eligible.

    Florida has three major elections this year: the March presidential primary, the August statewide election and the November general election.

    If you want to vote in any of them, you need to register to vote in Florida. If there’s a specific election you want to vote in, you need to register 29 days before that election.

    You are eligible to vote in Florida if:

    • Be a citizen of the United States of America
    • Be a legal resident of Florida
    • Be a legal resident of the county in which you seek to be registered
    • Be at least 16 years old to preregister, or at least 18 years old to register and vote
    • Not be a person who has been adjudicated mentally incapacitated with respect to voting in Florida or any other state without having the right to vote restored
    • Not be a person convicted of a felony without having your right to vote restored

    There are no set rules for what makes a legal resident in Florida. The biggest thing is you must have a home in the state. Also, your home address cannot be a post office box.

    How To Register....... There are a few ways to register to vote in Florida.

    ONLINE:

    • Register to vote online by clicking here.
    • If you are registering to vote in Florida for the first time and do not have a Florida ID, you will be prompted to print, sign, and mail or drop off the form according to the Orange County Supervisor of Elections.

    IN-PERSON:

    • You can vote at a driver's license office
    • You can vote at a public library
    • You can vote at the Center for Independent Living
    • You can vote at the WIC and DCF offices
    • You can vote at any election office

    BY MAIL DROP OFF:

    • You can mail to Orange County Supervisor of Elections, P.O. Box 562001, Orlando, FL 32856-2001.
    • Download a Florida Voter Registration Application
    • Call the Orange County Supervisor of Elections at 407-836-2070 if you prefer to have a registration application mailed to you or if you have questions about voter registration or updating your registration.

    If you are from another state, you need to fill out a new voter registration form for Florida. Your registration does not transfer from one state to the next.
