Man Drives Semitruck Into Tampa Strip Club After Being Kicked Out.

A man who had been kicked out of a Tampa strip club early Tuesday morning returned and drove a semitruck into the building, killing one man and injuring two others, police said.

Officers responded around 4:19 a.m. Tuesday to the Emperors Gentleman Club, located at 5718 E. Adamo Drive, on a report of a truck that crashed into pedestrians, according to a Tampa Police Department news release.

Police said a bystander was killed, and two others were injured in the crash. Witnesses told police the 25-year-old driver had just been kicked out of the club after getting into a fight with another person inside the building and returned to drive the truck into a group of people standing at the entrance.

"This was a semi-tractor that was intentionally rammed at a group of individuals," Tampa Police Major Patrick Messmer said.

All three men were leaving the club with a group that included the person involved in the argument, but they were not part of the fight, TPD said.

The driver was taken to the hospital in critical condition. The two injured men are expected to survive their injuries.

"What the officers discovered was that after an altercation at the club, a 25-year-old white male subject exited the club, got into a vehicle and waited, lied in wait... for a half-hour or so... until the individual he had an altercation with exited the club," Messmer added.

Neither the person who was killed nor the two people injured were the man’s intended target.

Messmer announced the driver is facing charges of first-degree murder, two counts of attempted first-degree murder, DUI manslaughter, vehicular homicide and two counts of DUI with serious bodily injury.
