    The Joaquin City Council administered the oath of office to newly elected council members and took action on agenda items Tuesday, May 21, 2024 Council members sworn in included Cheryl Green, City Secretary, administered the oaths of office to Barbara Pridgen, Mary Stanley and Rusty Wilson.

    No one spoke during the Open Forum where comments are limited to three minutes per person.

    Department Head Reports were reviewed including the Utility Billing Manager Report, Public Works Report, and the City Secretary Report. It was noted during the Utility Billing Manager Report that a person completing community service requirements aiding the city meter reader by taking photos of meters was also reading the meters; a duty designated for the city meter reader only.

    Items approved were May financials, bills for May, ordering street signs, and installing cameras in and around new city office.

    Agenda items tabled included a new city website, turf at the city park, hiring someone to work maintenance, and a quote from Interstate Specialty for the E. Saddle lift station.

    With no other business to discuss, the meeting was adjourned.
