Opinion: When the Supreme Court Stops Working for Americans - This is What Happens

Six Supreme Court justices ended Affirmative Action yesterday: which was totally essential to all Americans trying to get a fair education or totally bogus and only a means of getting students into good colleges who couldn’t make it on their own.

Depending on who you talked to.

News Update: Today they also struck down President Biden's Student Loan Forgiveness program and ruled that a Christian web designer has a First Amendment right to refuse to work on same-sex weddings.

    Whew, they've been busy!

These six wise men and women on the court are convinced they know better than anyone else.

These six jurists are not evaluating laws or actions against the good of the American people. That’s not really their job.

As they see it, they are just enforcing the Constitution because somehow the Constitution stopped being about America and what its citizens need and want.

    Who knew?

Makes you wonder what the founding fathers were up to anyway.

Affirmative action was not constitutional and correct and did violate the U.S. Constitution's promise of equal protection under the law. It was also, you know, not actually written into the Constitution.

    Say What?!

But neither was Roe v Wade or women’s reproductive rights. Neither was it written that Black men and women and other people of color had equal rights under the law.

That ALL people had the right to vote. That came later, much later.

Or that marriage could only be between a man and a woman. That was another document. The Bible.

Or a thousand other things that Americans take for granted and shouldn’t be under constant watch to make sure that this court doesn’t try to take them away.

    We have a right-leaning court.

They are in danger of falling completely off the dais - stage right.

Of eliminating a large swath of Americans who disagree with them from this country's political and social landscape.

They are not simply marching to a different drummer, they are orchestrating their own revivals. Singing praises to a land that doesn’t look much like the one we’re living in - and that apparently bothers them.

What doesn’t bother them, is doing whatever they feel is correct and just according to their own set of rules.

    Get a gift. No problem.

Get a big gift, also no problem.

Get a gift worth $10,000 or $100,000 or have a rich guy pay for your nephew’s tuition - stop worrying we know when we’re crossing the line and frankly, we’re not all that worried about it - because between you and us, and the rest of America, we erased it years ago.

The Supreme Court has been watching too much Fox News.

Have listened to far too many reports that were based on false information, false narratives, false assumptions, laws that didn’t exist, or laws interpreted in such a strange and twisted way, that the ghost of Houdini is having seizures just trying to comprehend what is happening.

These six jurists are not concerned about the Constitution, in its original form and interpretation, they are interested in what the voices in their privileged echo chamber are telling them.

They believe that flying thousands of miles in a private jet, owned by someone who has business before the court is not a problem because they have superpowers. Seriously.

They have hidden abilities that prevent their sponsors and hosts from actually voicing any words that might be directly connected to a case before the court.

Nope, the words just won’t come out. And if they somehow manage to escape, they are nothing more than -

God, it’s great to have you here, Justice Thomas. Have another mai tai.
Or, Man the salmon are really biting today, don’t you agree, Justice Alito.

We should actually be thankful that we have placed in the highest court of the land, men and women who know what we need and want before we even know it ourselves.

Who knew that we didn't want no stinking Affirmative Action for all those decades or assisting all people in getting a good or great education?

No, because it’s bad for those who get it. It weakens their character and makes them a victim.

Better to have them banging on the doors of Harvard, Yale, and the rest of the Ivy League colleges because that level of physical effort and eventual failure will make them stronger.

And those six jurists knew that in our heart of hearts, we had a problem with Roe V Wade because it wasn’t fully covered by the Constitution. That flaw, that piece of irregularity tormented us and they knew it was only a matter of time before we lost it.

So, they stepped in and with a little counsel from the far-right evangelical Corp saved us from ourselves.

Now you can’t get better than that. The hell with Minority Report and knowing when someone will commit any crime and imprisoning them before it happens.

These six elite members of our legal system somehow have a direct line back to the founding fathers - a sort of judicial hotline that they use whenever they want to know what those men were thinking and if, you know, they may have left something out of the original document, for whatever reasons and find out how they should fix it.

    Talk about having an in.

And we thought Bat Man had a cool setup.

No, apparently it is best to let these justices do their thing because they are pros.

They are the Lebron James and Simone Biles of the world of jurisprudence and if they don’t see eye to eye with the vast majority of Americas, then the vast majority of Americans have simply got to catch up - because they are not going to wait.

They have rights to reverse, people to impede and laws to deconstruct and there’s no time to waste.

We should all take a breath and relax - We’re in Good Hands.
