    Author’s Note

This article is based on corporate postings and accredited media reports. Linked information within this article is attributed to the following outlets: ScrapeHero.com and The-Sun.com.

    Introduction

A prominent Akron, Ohio McDonald's location closed on the 21st, reportedly for a major remodel.

The McDonald's has been prominent due to being the last remaining 1980's-built location in the area that retained its original look, which featured a now-retro interior and exterior representing the decade.

For perspective, per ScrapeHero.com, McDonald’s still retains the largest U.S. location count of any fast food restaurant group: There are 13,529 McDonalds restaurants in the United States as of March 12, 2024. The state and territory with the most number of McDonalds locations in the US is California, with 1,221 restaurants, which is about 9% of all McDonalds restaurants in the US.

    Let us explore.

    McDonald’s, 2024

According to a July 23 report from The-Sun.com, the longstanding Ohio entity is being rebuilt to meet modern standards.

As excerpted from the report as it regards the location: It shared the news via a note on the front door. "Our store is being rebuilt!!!" began the note. "We will be closing at 11:00 am Sunday, July 21, 2024." The note shared that the location would reopen in late fall.

    Conclusion
