According to a report this week from MoodyontheMarket.com, the upcoming Chick-fil-A restaurant on Pipestone Road in Benton Township received a signage variance on July 31 from the Benton Township Zoning Board of Appeals.

The variance was necessary as the company wanted something larger than the 40-foot sign limit.

As excerpted from the report: Chick-fil-A requested permission to erect a 60-foot sign at the site of the former Steak ‘n Shake near I-94 so drivers on the highway can know the restaurant is there... The board was told the township has granted plenty of variances for that rule in the past, and it agreed.

The company reportedly expects the demolition of the Steak 'n Shake and construction of the new Chick-fil-A to begin imminently.
