This article is based on corporate postings and accredited media reports. Linked information within this article is attributed to the following outlets: Adobe Stock and The-Sun.com.

    Introduction

A major Greenfield, Wisconsin Festival Foods grocery store, that in 2021 replaced a Target, is permanently closing on November 4. Dozens of jobs will be lost in the process.

    Let us explore.

    Festival Foods, 2024

According to an August 14th report from The-Sun.com, no replacement entity has yet been announced to take over the location and multiple reasons have been credited for its upcoming closure.

As excerpted from the report, quoting Brian Stenzel, the senior director of community involvement for Festival Foods: He admitted that the closure was a tough decision and that sales were not the only deciding factor. "While sales are the largest factor driving the decision to close this location, we also have seen an increase in theft and safety-related incidents impacting our guests and associates."

Stenzel did also point out the store never attained its sales goals.

It should also be noted the company filed a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) notice, stating that 91 store employees will be laid off upon the store's closure.

    Conclusion

This is a developing story. In the event of pertinent updates to this matter, inclusive of closing or opening status of other company stores, I will share them here on NewsBreak.
