Named after Andreas’s hometown of Freiberg, an 800-year-old silver mining town in East Germany, the restaurant at 203 E. Upon entering, guests are greeted by the inviting sight of a cozy bar with just five stools. Dining alone at the bar is a comfortable experience, where patrons can enjoy the company of friendly servers who are always polite and helpful.

Today, as the summer heat peaked outside, the cool interior of Freiberg’s provided a refreshing respite. The lunch menu offered a delightful array of options. One patron enjoyed an unsweetened iced tea served in a large beer mug, accompanied by cheddar bratwurst, sauerkraut, and broccoli. The meal was rounded off with sliced bread and green-onion-infused butter, a small indulgence worth the extra cost. The portion sizes were perfect, satisfying diners without feeling overly full—a crucial factor on such a hot day.
