Former Buc Sisneros will arrive at the Chicago Cubs with a chip on his shoulder

(WJHL) After one of the best offensive seasons in program history, ETSU’s Cameron Sisneros was selected in the 14th round (422nd pick) in the 2024 MLB draft by the Chicago Cubs on Tuesday afternoon.

Sisneros is ETSU’s second draft pick in as many years and 55th selection or signee with an MLB organization. Sisneros put together one of the best offensive seasons in the history of ETSU baseball in 2024 by leading ETSU in slugging percentage, RBI, multi-rbi games, home runs, and total bases.
now that he has his foot in the door his motivation is to show he’s as good as the other 421 picked before him and that the Cubs won’t regret giving him a chance.

“I think I was expecting to go in day two at some point. And of course, that didn’t happen. But at the end of the day, there’s a plan and I just got to trust that,” he said.

Sisneros is the fourth Buccaneer to be drafted by the Cubs, joining Jeff Andrews, Lendon Hart, and Paul Hoilman.
