JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. (WJHL) — Fans of the Tennessee Volunteers and Yee-Haw Brewing Company’s beer will have plenty to look forward to come football season.

On Tuesday, Y ee-Haw announced it had been named the “Exclusive Craft Beer of the Tennessee Vols.” The partnership promises a new Vols-themed drink and future collaborations between the two entities.

Tony Kraft, the general manager for Yee-Haw’s flagship location in Johnson City, said the pairing was a natural decision.

“I think this is going to be big for your brewing,” Kraft said. “We’re really excited. We’ve always had roots in Tennessee, so being partnered with the University of Tennessee is just a really good pick.”

Co-branded merchandise bearing Yee-Haw and Vols logos is expected to be available in the fall. Kraft encouraged customers to keep an eye on social media to see when merchandise hits the shelves.

Yee-Haw also announced it will soon offer the “Vol Lager,” the first officially licensed, co-branded craft beer with the University of Tennessee.

“So our Vol Lager will be available mid-August,” Kraft said. “It’s being brewed here in Johnson City. Our brewers are working very hard to get it done as soon as possible so it can hit the market.”

Kraft told News Channel 11 that Yee-Haw wants to brew a large supply of Vol Lager so it can be enjoyed at taprooms and stores that carry the company’s beer. Kraft said people can easily find out where to find the Vol Lager.

“We actually made it a little bit easier for people to find Yee-Haw’s Vols Lager by looking at our website ,” he said. “We released a beer finder on there so you can search your area.”

The partnership with the university also designates Yee-Haw taprooms as official watch party locations for Vols athletics. According to Kraft, the Johnson City Yee-Haw location already sees a strong showing from Vols fans on game days, but even more fans are expected to show up with the partnership in place.

“We’ve always had a pretty good turnout for game days, but I think this will just ramp up the site with the fans,” Kraft said. “We’re going to do more events here at our locations, across all of our locations. So a lot more excitement that will be brought to the area.”

Yee-Haw will also have naming rights for the Social Deck at Neyland Stadium and the Left Field Bar in Lindsey Nelson Stadium.
