Man injured in lightning strike at rodeo arena died
JOHNSON COUNTY, Mo. —A man injured in a lightning strike in Johnson County, Missouri has died, the city reported Monday. Just after 11p.m. Friday, emergency services responded to the Holden Chamber of Commerce Rodeo at the City of Holden Park, 311, East 10th Street, after a report of a person struck by lightning in the parking area.
Leeton Motorcyclist Injured in JoCo Crash
A Leeton man was injured in a motorcycle crash that occurred Thursday morning in Johnson County. The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that 50-year-old Ronald W. Watson of Leeton, was on Missouri 23 at Route WW (south of WAFB) around 6:15 a.m., when Watson says he entered a curve and activated the clutch instead of the brake, causing the 2002 Honda Shadow VT1100C to overturn and skid, traveling off the right side of the roadway and overturn again, ejecting the rider.
