Isolated severe storms this evening followed by dangerous heat to start the work week
HASTINGS, Neb. (KSNB) - I don’t know about you, but I am tired of talking about these hot temperatures. So, let’s change the subject for this evening and talk about severe weather. Why? Well... we have a low chance of seeing severe storms this evening. I’d say about a 10% to around 20% chance. The higher chance of seeing any storms will be southwest Nebraska and possibly North Central Nebraska. Storms have already initiated in Northeast Colorado and will continue to press eastward through the evening. As storms move eastward they should weaken before reaching Central Nebraska. In fact, it’s possible the Tri-Cities may not see any storms this evening. One or two storms could develop in North Central Nebraska this evening as well. This activity will push east and dissipate well before midnight. As we head past midnight, things will quiet down with mostly clear skies overnight. Lows tonight falling into the mid 50s northwest to lower 70s southeast.
