Tuffy Memorial Free Pit BBQ and Custer County Classic Bull Riding will go today
BROKEN BOW- Today, July 29, the Custer County Fairgrounds will be lively with the 54th annual Tuffy Winberg Memorial Free Pit BBQ and the Custer County Classic Bull Riding. Starting at 5:30 the Tuffy Winberg Memorial Free Pit BBQ will be held in the Shooting Sports Building (building 18) at the Custer County Fairgrounds. They will serve free beef sandwiches, beans, chips, water or tea, and Dairy Queen Dilly Bars.

GI Home Federal Falls To Elkhorn
(Elkhorn, NE) - The Grand Island Home Federal baseball team fell in a winners bracket game at the state American Division tournament on Sunday night to Elkhorn Ortho Nebraska by a final score of 3-2. It was a nip-and-tuck game throughout as Grand Island would strike first with a run in the top of the 2nd to take an early lead. Elkhorn would then answer with two of their own to take a 2-1 lead after three innings. GI would then tie the game at 2-2 in the top of the fourth. The game would remain tied until the bottom of the seventh when Elkhorn would get a walk-off single to win the game.
