As the sun casts its relentless gaze upon Southern California, San Diego is bracing for a sweltering week ahead, with temperatures soaring above average, the National Weather Service said in a statement. Monday's weather in San Diego County is expected to reach highs in the lower to mid-70s near the coast and could climb into the 90s for the inland valleys, while the Apple and Lucerne Valleys face a scorching range of 100 to 110 degrees. Coastal Orange County will experience milder mid to upper 70s, but inland areas are prepped for upper 80s.
