DA: Over $177K in drugs seized from Johnstown home, two arrested

CAMBRIA COUNTY, Pa. (WTAJ) — Two Johnstown residents were busted after task force officers seized $177K in drugs during a search.
On July 12, Tauras Smith, 41, and Malik Davis, 35, were taken into custody after police executed a search warrant on the 100 block of Stone Street, according to Cambria County District Attorney Greg Neugebauer. When police arrived, they noted seeing a man throwing suspected controlled substances from a second story window.
The following items were seized by police:
1,102.8 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine, (street value approximately $110,280)
524.8 grams of suspected crack and cocaine, (street value approximately $ 52,480)
1,003 suspected counterfeit oxycodone/fentanyl pills, (street value approximately $15,045)
Digital scale, multiple cellular telephones and drug packaging material
$2830 in US Currency
In total, police seized $177,805 in drugs.

“A large quantity of suspected drugs were found by law enforcement in the City of Johnstown after a detailed investigation,” Neugebauer said. “We thank the men and women who work tirelessly to keep our community safe, and we also thank our fellow citizens who cooperate in investigations.”
Smith was taken into custody on an outstanding warrant from Westmoreland County. He was charged with three counts of felony possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, three misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance, three misdemeanor counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and three first degree misdemeanor counts of tampering with physical evidence.

Davis was also taken into custody on an outstanding warrant. He was charged with three counts of felony possession with Intent to deliver a controlled substance, three misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance, one misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia and one misdemeanor count of tampering with physical evidence.
Both men are currently in Cambria County Prison after being unable to post bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 24.
