    Johnstown Tomahawks to host U.S. National Team Development Program

    JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WTAJ) — The Johnstown Tomahawks announced that they will be hosting the United States National Team Development Program (USNTDP) for U17’s.

    The program will be held on Sept. 18, starting at 7 p.m. at the Cambria County First Summit Area. The USNTDP represents the highest level of USA Hockey’s amateur development program and includes several players on the NHL Central Scouting Futures List.

    “Our entire organization is proud to work with USA Hockey to bring the USNTDP U17s to Johnstown,” Johnstown Tomahawks Majority Owner, John Koufis, said. “We look forward to an exciting evening for our players and fans, and of course, a wonderful homecoming for Brody George. The Tomahawks always welcome the opportunity to showcase the rich hockey history of Johnstown, Pennsylvania to a broader audience.”

    Notably, in this past season, Johnstown native Brody George played 56 games with the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite team, scoring 29 goals and 39 assists for a total of 59 points. In the 2022-23 season, Brody played at Conemaugh Valley where he appeared in nine games, scoring 14 goals, totaling 18 points.
