When the 2007 NHL Entry Draft was underway, the top two picks were Patrick Kane to the Chicago Blackhawks and James van Riemsdyk to the Philadelphia Flyers. James van Riemsdyk became a solid NHL winger between two stints in Philadelphia and other tenures with the Toronto Maple Leafs and, most recently, the Boston Bruins. James, currently a free agent, has been a solid complementary scorer for the teams he has played on. In 1,011 regular-season games, he accrued 311 goals and 318 assists for 629 points. He also has 36 playoff points in 82 games (21 goals and 15 assists). The 35-year-old has had a stellar career in the league. However, he is not the only one in the family who has been significant in the NHL.

Meghan Ball and Emily Sterling are set to join six other former Terps in the Athletes Unlimited Professional Women’s Lacrosse League that starts on Thursday. The league began in 2021 and follows a format in which teams are redrafted weekly. Los Angeles Lakers shooting guard Bronny James isn't the only rookie struggling at the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas.Washington Wizards rookie power forward Alex Sarr had a historically ugly performance on Tuesday night. His team lost to the Portland Trail Blazers, and he shot 0-for-15 and scored 0 points.Sarr missed all seven of his three-point attempts and both of his free-throw attempts, committed five fouls and had three turnovers, but he did contribute nine rebounds, three assists and three blocks.According to an ESPN report, the No. 2 overall pick from France recorded the most field goal attempts by a player without a make in Summer League history since at least 2017. The report added that if Tuesday had been a regular-season contest, the 15 misses without a make would've tied for the second-most in league history.Sarr competed last season with Perth in Western Australia in the NBL Next Stars program and is projected to play alongside Malcolm Brogdon, Jordan Poole, Kyle Kuzma and Jonas Valanciunas in the Wizards' starting five.The 19-year-old has posted 6.7 points, 6.7 rebounds and 3.0 blocks per game in three Summer League contests but has shot an abysmal 19.5% from the field.
