Live Opossum Captured in Downtown Honolulu
A live opossum was captured outside a downtown office building yesterday morning. An area office worker saw the opossum on a window ledge in the gated doorway outside the Austin Building at 223 S. King St. and reported it to the Honolulu Police Department. Arriving officers were able to capture the animal using a broomstick and a plastic bin.

32-year-old woman dies after being struck twice on highway
KANEOHE, Hawaii (KITV) — A 32-year-old woman is dead after being struck on Kamehameha Highway in a hit-and-run on Thursday morning. Honolulu police say at around 2:05 a.m, a 75-year-old male motorist was traveling northbound on Kamehameha Highway in Kaneohe when he struck a 32-year-old female pedestrian who was walking partially in the roadway.

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - A judge on Wednesday sentenced a Honolulu police officer for insurance fraud. Officer Cheyne Kaninau was involved in a crash and later obtained a GEICO insurance policy. He then tried to file a claim with GEICO for them to pay $6,700 for damages to his uninsured vehicle.
