JOLIET (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Downed trees and debris still litter a Joliet golf course that was hit hard by this week's storms.

“Anybody in the golf business or anybody that has seen destruction like that, weather, Mother Nature, she sure rules,” said Inwood Golf Course Manager Brian Legan.

He said the course remains closed following Monday night’s storms.

“They’re hard to replace, 50, 70-year-old trees that [have] been significantly placed at our golf course,” Legan said.

Legain said they are still surveying damage but are hopeful to get the front nine open in the next few days.

“[We are] really just thankful no one got hurt,” said Legan. “The time and night that it happened nobody was on our facilities, and we’re just assessing the damages. Day by day we’re doing clean up and trying to move forward.”
