Jonesboro (Ga.) 2026 four-star cornerback Jontavius Wyman’s heart knows what it wanted. The No. 93 overall prospect in the 2026 On Rankings has committed to Georgia.

Wyman picked up an offer from Georgia in May. The Bulldogs watched Wyman during the evaluation period and within two weeks extended an offer.

He didn’t see any need to continue to wait. Wyman was looking for a home in college and beyond.

“I feel like now was the time to commit because I felt like I was ready to commit myself to a school that I could call home, not only while I’m there but after I’m gone,” Wyman told DawgsHQ.

Georgia has always been a dream school for Wyman. He sees Georgia as one of the premier programs in the country.

Jonesboro is less than two hours from Athens. Playing close to home is also a major selling point for Wyman. Wyman is intrigued by playing in front his family and friends at the college level.

“Georgia is special because it is one of the most dominant programs in college football,” Wyman told DawgsHQ. “It is special to play for Georgia because this is the hometown and it’s nothing like playing for the home team, with your family in the stands.”

Georgia’s coaching staff makes Jontavius Wyman feel prioritized

Wyman has been heavily communicating with Georgia’s coaching staff since June 15. The Bulldogs have been blunt with Wyman throughout the process so far.

That was something that connected with Wyman. He also feels comfortable in Georgia’s culture.

“They just kept it real and showed me what it was like to be loved,” Wyman said. “I fit well in the culture, I lived in the culture my whole life. I love their fans and the atmosphere of the games.”

Georgia’s co-defensive coordinator Travaris Robinson and defensive backs coach Donte Williams have been key figures in recruiting Wyman. They both have a strong connection with the four-star cornerback.

Wyman also has a lot of respect for Georgia’s head coach Kirby Smart’s coaching style.

“I like a lot about T-Rob and Donte, those are my guys,” Wyman said. “They are wonderful coaches with great resumes and a great background. Coach Kirby is a great coach. He’s a coach that anyone would want to play for. He might get on you and get in you’re behind, but it’s for a great reason. Just know he loves and wants the best for his players at the end of the day.”

Wyman is Georgia’s second commit in the class of 2026. The Bulldogs have five-star quarterback Jared Curtis pledged in the class already.
