Cali Deal named to 2024 SBLive Louisiana All-State Softball Team
Cali Deal of Quitman High School has been selected to the 2024 SBLive Louisiana All-State Softball Team comprised of the top players in the state from all classifications and divisions. The reigning Class B Most Valuable Player (MVP) was selected as a first team utility player after compiling a sparkling 20-3 record and a miniscule 0.98 ERA, while also batting .440 with 4 home runs and 30 RBI to lead QHS to the LHSAA Division V “non-select” state title this past spring.

MONROE, La. (KNOE) - In a heartwarming display of dedication and love, a woman’s patience overnight led to the adoption of a special four-legged friend. According to the Ouachita Parish Animal Shelter (OPAS), the evening of Thursday July 18 , the woman parked herself outside the gates, determined to be the first in line to adopt a special furry friend.

Louisiana EF-2 Tornado Struck Near Shreveport Monday, 53 Miles Long, Lasting Over 90 Minutes
Shreveport, LA – A devastating 53-mile long track tornado touched down in northern Red River and Bossier Parish, Louisiana, on Monday, July 8. The National Weather Service in Shreveport confirmed the tornado, rating it an EF-2 with estimated peak winds of 115 mph. The tornado, which occurred between 2:15 PM and 3:50 PM, lasted over 90 minutes and left a path of destruction approximately 1,000 yards wide, causing two injuries and one fatality.
