Austin's Fourth of July Fireworks: Permits, Fines, and Safety Tips for Lawful Celebration
As the Fourth of July celebrations approach, knowing the legalities of fireworks in Austin and its surrounding areas becomes crucial for those planning to brighten the night sky. Within the Austin city limits, lighting and selling fireworks is strictly prohibited, but there are exceptions for smaller items like smoke devices and sparkles which don't require a permit. According to KXAN, devices such as "Snake, GlowWorms, Wire Sparkler, and Trick Noisemaker" are deemed safe for use within city confines.

It's also Thursday, so a new drought monitor has been released. Due to the holiday, the drought update took place on Wednesday instead of Thursday. The latest update shows Austin, along with much of Travis and Hays counties, back in the "abnormally dry" category. No. 7 OT Lamont Rogers sets decision date
As the Texas Longhorns continue to target Lewisville consensus five-star prospect Michael Fasusi as Kyle Flood’s top target along the offensive line, head coach Steve Sarkisian and his staff are trying to make a late surge with Mesquite Horn offensive tackle Lamont Rogers to add an elite prospect to the class ahead of Fasusi’s decision.
The Longhorns thought this was the same old Texas A&M. They were wrong.
The Longhorns don't yet understand that this is a different Texas A&M than the one that left them 12 years ago. The Schlossnagle coup by the Longhorns, as it turns out, wasn't all it was cracked up to be. What was portrayed to be a seismic shift by Texas fans looks now as though it was only momentarily destabilizing for Texas A&M baseball.
