Motorcycle crashes with vehicles after path is blocked, motorcyclist transported to Joplin hospital

JOPLIN, Mo. (KOAM) — Just before 5 p.m. Monday reports of a motorcycle and vehicle crash at 36th and Rangeline alerted Joplin E-911.

Joplin Fire, Newton County Ambulance, METS AMB and Joplin Police responded.

On scene we learn from Joplin Police a northbound motorcycle on Rangeline was forced to move to the center line to avoid a west-northbound tractor trailer pulling into motorcycle path.

The motorcycle struck three passenger vehicles in the south to eastbound turning lane and the tractor trailer.

The motorcyclist was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries to an area hospital.

Northbound traffic was halted for about an hour, MoDOT Emergency Response diverted northbound traffic for the duration.

All other vehicles were able to drive from the scene. One experienced a flat tire as the motorcycle collided.
