JOPLIN, MO — To some people, boxing is just a sport. But to the Clarke family, it’s become a way of life.

Aaron Clarke said, “It takes a lot of self grinding, getting up and running, and they got a really difficult schedule every day. They work, work from sunup to sundown. So I think that boxing changes lives”.

For Aaron’s oldest son, Daveon, boxing was a lifeline to staying out of trouble and succeeding in school.

Daveon Clarke said, “Boxing taught me how to control my anger and stuff in school. So really, after I started, I was like, chill. And then growing up, I would just get better in school. And then I got my award from school for getting high scores on MAP Testing”.

The Clarke family have had no shortage of success. But to the four brothers, Daveon (13), Brandon (12), Amari (11) and Jayzon (7), watching their successes together and pushing each other to be great is all about having an unbreakable brotherhood.

Amari Clarke said, “It’s really good because most kids don’t have brothers like we do, and they don’t brothers to push them”.

As their trainer and their father. There’s nothing that Aaron Clarke is more proud of than seeing his boys work hard to achieve their success.

Aaron Clarke said, “It’s the best feeling ever. Sitting there watching them get their hands raised. The work happens in between the fights, Not during the fights. That’s just a little part of the win. To see all that hard work and effort pay off in the ring on Fight day is just the best feeling in the world”.

Despite still being young, these four boys have high hopes for boxing and they know what it’s going to take to reach those goals.

Where do you want your boxing career to go?

    Amari Clarke said, “Really far”.

What’s it going to take to get that far?

Amari Clarke said, “A lot of work”.

The brothers along with their dad travel all over the country to compete against kids from other states but also other countries.
