Top 5 Plays of the Week – Week 48

JOPLIN, MO — After a week of sports, we showed off our Top 5 Plays of the Week from around the Four States area.

Play #1: Kendall Holmes to Elliott Hawkins (Joplin Crusaders’ Quarterback & Running Back —

Joplin Crusader Quarterback Kendall Holmes dropped back and scrambled around, in some trouble, broke away from the defense, spun out of it, and fired downfield to Elliot Hawkins who made a great one-handed snag and barreled his way into the endzone.

The Crusaders went on to dominate over the Wichita Skyhawks, defeating them, 40-7.

Play #2: Andre Jackson (Joplin Outlaws Outfielder) —

In their game with the Texarkana Rhinos, Joplin Outlaws Outfielder Andre Jackson hit a grand slam over the right field fence.

The Outlaws went on to win via a walk-off, 11-10.

Play #3: Kendall Holmes to Charles West (Joplin Crusaders’ Quarterback & Wide Receiver) —

Crusader Quarterback, Kendall Holmes spun away from a would be tackler and ran away from trouble and flipped it on over to Charles West who turned on the burners and sprinted away for the touchdown.

Play #4: Patrick Mahomes to Xavier Worhty (Chiefs Quarterback & Wide Receiver) —

At training camp, Chiefs Quarterback Patrick Mahomes found rookie wideout Xavier Worthy who made a great catch through a tight window deep downfield.

Play #5: Lucas Vanlanduit (Joplin Outlaws Pitcher) —

In their game against Texarkana on Friday night, Outlaws pitcher Lucas Vanlanduit had a nice night as he went on to finish with a 7 strikeout performance.
