Emancipation "Park Days" Celebration 2024 at Ewert Park

JOPLIN, Mo. (KOAM) — This weekend is the Emancipation “Park Days” 2024 at Ewert Park in Joplin. It is a cultural event for the entire family. Join us as we celebrate diversity, freedom and achievement.

This Friday night kicks off Joplin Emancipation Celebration 2024, with special guest Lemuel Sheppard at 7 p.m. Food trucks, vendors, Kid's Market, and more.

FRIDAY NIGHT

• 8:30 p.m. Akeem Kemp Band takes the stage at 8:30
• 9 p.m. Kid's Movie Night in The Park sponsored by Joplin Parks and Recreation
• 10:30 p.m. Live Music by: DJ Freddie P

The purpose of Emancipation Celebration is to provide a cultural event that educates on African American freedom and achievement. We use this event to promote cultural diversity and respect for all cultures. As in years past, we have three full days of community activities planned. Activities include: Live entertainment, 17th Annual Car Show, KC Marching Falcons, Kid's Market - Live Music - Dominoes Tournament  - Movie Night in the Park - Local Vendors All activities are free to the public, everyone is welcome!
