The Tuscarawas County Sheriff’s Office is investigating two separate incidents in which animals were shot in the county over the weekend.

On Oct. 19, deputies responded to a report of a deceased cat found with a gunshot wound on Cutler Road NE in Sherrodsville, Warren Township. The animal appeared to have been shot with a .22 caliber firearm. Authorities have not identified any suspects in the case.

A day earlier, on Oct. 18, another incident was reported involving a barn cat that had been shot with a practice arrow. The owner removed the arrow but had to euthanize the animal due to its injuries. Photos of the scene and the arrow were collected for further investigation.

Both incidents remain under investigation, and the sheriff’s office is monitoring the situation for any further developments.
