PHOENIX — A Valley family who has lived in the City of Phoenix affordable housing for years is now starting over after taking their fight against the city to court. Ryan and Tahira Handeland and their five kids have lived at Camelback Properties for six years. Last week, they received an immediate eviction notice after they say they asked for things to be fixed inside their apartment. This week, they reached a settlement agreement with the city.

A player-for-player trade has been completed in the NBA on Friday. As reported by Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Phoenix Suns are sending David Roddy to the Atlanta Hawks in exchange for E.J. Liddell. This is the second time this offseason that Liddell has been dealt as he was traded to Atlanta in the deal sending Dejounte Murray to the New Orleans Pelicans. Maricopa County invests more than $130K in dark-sky discovery center and other projects
The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors approved more than $130,000 in funding this week. The largest portion of that money, about $100,000, will go toward the International Dark Sky Discovery Center in Fountain Hills. The county board’s Vice Chairman Thomas Galvin said the center teaches Maricopa County residents about the importance of dark skies for humans, animals and plants.
