One of Peoria's more unique downtown office buildings could soon be changing hands.

The 270,000-square-foot office building/parking garage structure at 222 NE Monroe Street — also known as Regency Plaza — is slated to hit the auction block on June 12. Roughly 60,000-square-feet of the building is office space, while the rest is an approximately 500-car parking garage.

The parking garage services both the Four Points by Sheraton Hotel and the general public.

    Bidding will start $2.25 million.

One of downtown Peoria's more interesting looking structures, this building's base is a parking garage that is topped by gold-red glass office windows.

Principal Securities LLC purchased the building in 2007 from Mathews Progress Group Inc. for $3.4 million.

The University of Illinois College of Medicine and Stellar Systems are listed on the building as tenants.
