The 10 places around Peoria with the fastest-growing home prices

Limited inventory throughout the United States continues to affect home prices.

Last month, the average home value was $359,402 nationwide, according to the real estate market company Zillow. That is a nearly a $4,000 jump from the March value of $355,696 — and a 4.4% increase from April last year.

The median listing home price in Peoria County was $139,900 last month — about 39% of the national median, according to realtor.com The median listing home price for April was $179,900 in Tazewell County and $216,200 in Woodford County.

Using data from Zillow, the New York-based newswire service Stacker compiled a list of greater Peoria area communities with the fastest-growing home prices. Rankings are based on 1-year and 5-year price changes as of March.
