The Tazewell County Corner's Office has identified a 90-year-old rural Tremont man as the person killed Saturday in a two-vehicle accident in Green Valley.

The collision took place Saturday morning at the intersection of Towerline Road and Toboggan Avenue in rural Green Valley. Elmer Papenhause, 90, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Preliminary autopsy findings indicate Papenhause died from multiple blunt force injuries due to the motor vehicle collision. He was the sole occupant of the pickup truck that he was operating.

Four occupants of the other pickup vehicle were taken to a Peoria hospital.

This case remains under investigation by the Illinois State Police, Tazewell County Sheriff’s Office and the Tazewell County Coroner’s Office.
