Big Mike's Donuts & Coffee – situated at 1369 W. Garfield Ave. in Bartonville – is once again making doughnuts for the Morton Pumpkin Festival. The shop announced it will temporarily close from Sept. 8 to Sept. 18 for “Prep, Production and Recovery.”

The 58th annual Morton Pumpkin Festival will take place Sept. 11 through Sept. 14. Attendees at the festival can purchase a six-pack of pumpkin doughnuts for $10, according to the event’s website.

Isn't this the place constantly in the news for "we don't know how we are gonna keep going, we got all these donuts." Pandering for sales. Yes? So, when blessed with the windfall, that is the Pumpkin Festival, then you take the luxury and shut the place down? Stupid. How about doubling down, whatever that would look like, and stay open and WORK!
