    Illinois high school football state rankings: Peoria-area schools in poll for Week 5

    All four Peoria-area high school football teams stayed among the top of their respective classes as the third 2024 Illinois state rankings from The Associated Press were released Wednesday afternoon.

    Peoria High (4-0) stayed at No. 6 in Class 5A, while Farmington (4-0) remained at No. 2 in Class 2A. Class 3A Princeton (4-0) also didn't move, maintaining its spot at No. 3. Class 1A Stark County (4-0) fell a spot to No. 7.

    Other Peoria-area teams receiving votes include: Washington (Class 6A), Dunlap (Class 6A), East Peoria (Class 5A), Macomb (Class 4A), Elmwood/Brimfield (Class 3A), Eureka (Class 3A), Monmouth-Roseville (Class 3A), Olympia (Class 3A) and Princeville (Class 1A).

    Class 5A LaGrange Park Nazareth (3-1) and Class 4A Burbank St. Laurence (4-0) are the newest No. 1 teams, while Lincoln-Way East (Class 8A), Chicago Mt. Carmel (Class 7A), East St. Louis (Class 6A), Byron (Class 3A), Maroa-Forsyth (Class 2A) and Lena-Winslow (Class 1A) all remained atop their respective classes.
