American Shad Fishing in the Sacramento River | Watch out for Sea Lions!

Encountered with a sea lion & bent hook, this video’s got it all…. Hope you enjoy it! Currently, we don’t have a fish finder on our boat. On this fishing trip with "da Captain," I learned that one of the best indicator of American shad​ being active is the presence of sea lions. Be careful, you can lose your fish​ or your rigs if you don't use a rod holder! A sea lion enjoyed my catch and saved me a head for left over. Judging from the head, it was a trophy size shad!
