Twin Cities, MN – Residents in Minnesota and Wisconsin should prepare immediately as a severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 11 p.m. CDT. Elliana Ostertag top competition in Milton girls golf win
Milton defeated Edgerton in a girls golf dual meet on Friday in Jefferson. The Red Hawks won the nonconference contest with 396 strokes. The Crimson Tide finished with 415. Freshman Elliana Ostertag won the meet for Milton, topping the competition with 88 strokes. Edgerton sophomore Claudia Jenny finished second with a score of 97. Milton’s Avery Ferguson (100) and Emma Steinke (103) finished third and fourth respectively. Edgerton’s Lauren Richards took fifth with a score of 104. The Crimson Tide’s Amelia Leigh and the Red Hawks’ Piper Williams tied for sixth with 105 strokes. Milton will travel to Madison on Monday for a scramble and Edgerton will compete in Lake Mills on Thursday.
Village Green to close North Main Street branch in Rockford after 57 years
ROCKFORD — Village Green Home & Garden plans to close its North Main Street branch next month after 57 years in operation. The company plans to consolidate its nursery, greenhouse, home furnishings, gift and garden center business at its flagship store at 6101 E. Riverside Blvd., which opened in 1980. The branch at 2640 N. Main St. will close on Sept. 29.

Stories you might have missed from across Wisconsin. Green Bay: School district unveils third ADA-accessible playground. Every child deserves to be able to have fun on a playground. The Green Bay school district is doing its best to make that happen. Last week, the district unveiled its third playground that is accessible to children with with disabilities at the Aldo Leopold Community School. The playground may be the third in Green Bay, but it is one of 89 playgrounds with with some disability-friendly equipment in the Fox Valley. As reported by the Press-Gazette, Vickie Bayer, principal of Aldo Leopold Community School said during the unveiling, ” I’m profoundly grateful, I don’t even need a script for this, to the community for voting yes in 2022 to make this happen.” The fourth through eighth graders at Also Leopold had a lot of say in what equipment would be include in the new playground.
