Maddi Koury Receives NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship
MACON, Ga. - Mercer women's lacrosse student-athlete Maddi Koury has been recognized with the prestigious NCAA postgraduate scholarship as announced by the NCAA. The NCAA awards scholarships to 21 men and 21 women during each of the fall, winter, and spring seasons. The scholarships, worth $10,000 each, are awarded to student-athletes who intend to pursue advanced degrees in graduate or professional school. The student-athletes are evaluated on academics, athletics and community service.

High school students get taste of law school at Mercer summer camp
In June, Mercer Law School joined with the Dougherty County School System for the first 2024 GEAR UP Summer Law Camp at Mercer University School of Law. The partnership featured hands-on advocacy experience for 18 high schoolers who stayed on campus for one week. These goal-oriented students were looking for ways to step out of their typical summer break habits and into experiences where they could learn, grow and discover new ideas. The law school was seeking to facilitate learning about the American legal system, the role of lawyers and the power of advocacy.

Emory receives $5 million grant to improve geriatric care and education
Emory University has been awarded a $5 million cooperative agreement by the U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) to enhance geriatric care and education for health care workers in Georgia’s urban and rural areas.
