Loggerhead Marinelife Center Named #1

Loggerhead Marinelife Center (LMC) is honored to be voted as the No. 1 “Best Free Attraction” in USA Today ’s 2024 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards.

The winners were announced on Wednesday, June 26, after four weeks of online voting by the public. USA Today’ s panel of travel experts and public votes selected the Center from among 20 nationwide nominees. Other nominees included some of the country’s most notable destinations such as The Alamo, Central Park, and the Golden Gate Bridge.

“Being voted number one in the country is an honor and testament to the incredible experiences our guests have come to enjoy at Loggerhead Marinelife Center,” said Andy Dehart, President and CEO of Loggerhead Marinelife Center. “We are deeply grateful to our dedicated employees, volunteers, and local and national supporters for their unwavering support, which made this title possible.”

For more than 40 years, LMC has been one of Florida’s most visited nonprofit scientific destinations, welcoming more than 300,000 local, national, and international guests annually. The Center focuses on ocean and sea turtle conservation by offering immersive, educational programs and activities through sea turtle rehabilitation and research. The heart of Loggerhead Marinelife Center, a private nonprofit organization, lies in its commitment to providing free access to ocean education through support from the local community.

Loggerhead Marinelife Center, located in Loggerhead Park, Juno Beach, Fla., is a sea turtle research, rehabilitation, education, and conservation center. The Center also manages the Juno Beach Pier across the street from the park.
