Enjoy Loxahatchee River Heritage Day Next Month

Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse & Museum will host Loxahatchee River Heritage Day in celebration of the region’s history July 13, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Guests of all ages will enjoy presentations, guided tours, and meet-and-greets with local history authors and representatives from the area’s historical societies and museums.

Loxahatchee River Heritage Day will invite visitors to connect with the past, learn about the transformations that shaped the community. Docents in period costume will guide tours of the Tindall House and share what life was like in the Jupiter community over the last 124 years. Additionally, there will be a living history of Captain Charles H. Coe, an archaeologist, explorer, activist, and Jupiter resident, portrayed by his descendant Andrew Foster.

Presentations will include talks by Chris Davenport, a local Palm Beach County archaeologist, at 10:30 a.m.; Thomas Gidus on the history of Jupiter shipwrecks at 11:30 a.m.; and Josh Liller on “Tales from Jupiter’s Lighthouse Keepers” and “Town In Transition – The Growth of Jupiter from 1953 to 1987” at 1 and 2 p.m., respectively.

General admission tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for veterans and seniors, and $6 for children.
