WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — A West Palm Beach resident will represent Team USA in kiteboarding at the Olympics. Markus Edegran, 30, hailing from New York, started his sailing career at the age of eight on the Hudson River. PEMBROKE PARK, Fla. – Sunday is the 21st consecutive day that a heat advisory was in effect in South Florida. The heat index value was 105 degrees and could climb to 110 degrees in some areas of Miami-Dade, Broward, and Monroe counties. The peak heat index on Saturday at Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport was 110 degrees.
Search Intensifies for Missing 14-Year-Old Girl in Deerfield Beach, BSO Seeks Community Help
The Broward Sheriff’s Office has initiated a search for a 14-year-old girl, Sarah Capo, who has been reported missing in Deerfield Beach. Authorities were alerted to her disappearance after she was last seen on Friday night, around 9:30 p.m., in the vicinity of Northwest Seventh Place and 38th Terrace. WSVN reported that Capo is approximately 4 feet, 11 inches tall, with a weight of around 140 pounds, and has black hair and brown eyes. At the time she was last seen, she was wearing a black shirt and shorts.
