Dusk to Dawn Urgent Care validated as the First African American Owned Urgent Care in the nation with chain locations. LOS ANGELES, CA / ACCESSWIRE / July 22, 2024 / Dr. Vinson Eugene Allen and Dusk to Dawn Urgent Care of California make a historical mark as the first African American owned chain of urgent cares in the United States. This milestone builds upon a previous achievement from September 4, 2020, when the medical pioneer was named the first African American to open a chain of urgent cares in Los Angeles; which led many to believe that Dusk to Dawn Urgent Care could be the nation's first black-owned Chain. The California PR firm Executive 1 Media Group executed a nationwide urgent care project in February of 2024 with a team of researchers from Ohio, Nevada and California.

ACWPC All-Academic Team REDLANDS, Calif. – University of Redlands Women's Water Polo hauled in 12 individual academic honors as well as a team honor from the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) for the 2023-24 school year. The ACWPC announced its 2024 Women's All-Academic Teams from its office in Bridgeport, Pa. Welcome to Tuesday. If you were up early Monday to attend a morning meeting about parking in the city, or ventured down to City Hall for a similar evening meeting, you were probably disappointed. Both were postponed after the vendor working with the city had flights canceled and word came down after we listed the meetings in yesterday’s newsletter. There’s no word yet on when the meetings will be rescheduled and we haven’t seen a preview of what will be discussed. That means fears that the city is entertaining the idea of paid parking will probably linger, even though it seems unlikely that’s what will be proposed. Stay tuned!
Palm Springs parks director departs amid ongoing challenges
The city of Palm Springs is once again on the hunt for a department head after its director of parks and recreation left earlier this month. Yvonne Wise, who started in the City Hall leadership role in June 2022 ended her stint on July 11, a city spokesperson confirmed Monday. She will be replaced in the interim by Lauri Aylaian, who currently serves as vice chair of the city’s Planning Commission because the city is also currently without an assistant director for the department.
