Two from UIC Baseball Selected in 2024 MLB Draft
CHICAGO (July 17, 2024) – The 2024 MLB Draft concluded on Tuesday afternoon, as two UIC baseball players and one 2024 signee heard their names called to play professional baseball. Ryan Smith (West Chester, Ill./Nazareth Academy) was selected in the ninth round by the Houston Astros and Zane Zielinski (Chicago, Ill./Northeast CC) was also chosen in the ninth round by the San Francisco Giants. 2024 signing class member Ethan Dorchies (Cary, Ill.) was selected in the 10th round by the Milwaukee Brewers.
Interra Realty Brokers $8.175M Sale of The Synagogue Apartment Building in Chicago’s Uptown Neighborhood
Interra Realty, a Chicago-based commercial real estate investment services firm, announced it brokered the sale of The Synagogue, a 40-unit multifamily property at 5029 N. Kenmore Avenue in the city’s Uptown neighborhood for $8.175 million, or $204,375 per unit. Constructed in 1922, the building is an adaptive reuse of a former temple that was reopened as rental apartments in 2019.
