New OP chief sustainability officer to begin July 29
Oak Park has hired a new chief sustainability officer, Lindsey Roland Nieratka, after the role has been vacant for about eight months. Marcella Bondie Keenan previously held the role, starting in March 2023. She was originally hired as a sustainability coordinator for the village in August 2021. Her last day as chief sustainability officer was Nov. 10, 2023, according to village officials.

WEST GARFIELD PARK — A new training and control center in West Garfield Park for Chicago Transit Authority bus and train drivers won key City Council approval Wednesday. The vacant land at 335-375 N. FORT WAYNE (ADAMS) – The Storm Prediction Center sayas it was a derecho blew across Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio early Tuesday morning. A derecho is a straight-line windstorm that occurs over a large area with wind gusts of at least 58 mph. The storm spawned several tornadoes along it’s leading edge including twisters at O’Hare and Midway airports in Chicago and in northern Indiana.
