The single vehicle crash happened at about 3pm.</p><figure><img src="https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?type=thumbnail_580x000&amp;url=0UIcUz_0wC5S3xd00" alt="https://img.particlenews.com/image.php?url=0UIcUz_0wC5S3xd00" width="630" height="420" ><figcaption>Alex Schmidt / Getty Images</figcaption></figure><h2>What Happened in the Crash?</h2><p>The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2006 Ford Fusion, driven by 23-year-old Ruby Brantley of Minden was headed west on Interstate 20. For reasons still under investigation, the vehicle exited the roadway and entered a ditch, where it began rolling. Brantley, who was not buckled up, was ejected from the vehicle and suffered severe injuries. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment. State Police have now learned Brantley died two days after the crash.</p><p>Impairment is not suspected in this crash, but routine toxicology samples were collected and submitted for analysis. Troop G was notified that on October 13, 2024, Brantley had succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased. This crash remains under investigation.</p><p>Louisiana State Troopers wish to remind motorists of the importance of making good decisions while operating motor vehicles. Never drive while impaired, fatigued, or distracted; always ensure every occupant is properly restrained and obey all traffic laws.
