GEORGIA- Apalachee High School: Massive police presence at school, students being released

According to Fox News, a major incident at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia, led to a hard lockdown earlier today. School officials received reports of gunfire, which triggered the lockdown and a massive police response. Emergency responders swiftly arrived at the scene, and SkyFOX 5 footage showed them treating individuals on school grounds. At least two people were airlifted to hospitals for treatment. Barrow County law enforcement was out in full force, with dozens of officers on-site to secure the area. Shortly before 11:30 a.m., the school announced that the campus had been cleared and that students were being released to their families. Parents are allowed to pick up their children directly from the school, and buses are running as normal for students needing transportation home. Authorities are continuing to investigate the situation, and the Barrow County Sheriff’s Office will be providing updates on their official Facebook page. The school has promised to share more information as it becomes available.
