Grimes County Sheriff's Office: Two arrested following discovery of methamphetamine, marijuana by K9 dog
GRIMES COUNTY, Texas — On Monday, a Grimes County authorities arrested two individuals that were moving drugs through the area. The deputy made the stop on State Highway 6 near the FM 3090 overpass, and found that the driver, Crystal Varva, was driving with a suspended license. She had also been previously been convicted of driving without a valid license. It was noted that when the officer was talking with Varva, she was "highly nervous."

TYLER, Texas — A week before the Super Bowl, Patrick Mahomes Sr. is behind bars for driving while intoxicated 3rd or more — a third degree felony. According to Smith County judicial records, Mahomes was taken into custody by Tyler police Saturday night. Bond was set at $10,000 and he was released Sunday afternoon. Per his bond conditions, Mahomes is banned from drinking alcohol or using drugs and must submit to random drug testing. He's also been ordered to install a ignition interlocking device on any vehicle he drives. According to the state, a third degree felony is punishable by two to 10 years in prison.
