Pana‘ewa Rainforest Zoo and Garden’s latest arrival now has a new name. After narrowing it down to four names last week, a Facebook post on the Friends for Pana‘ewa Zoo announced the 11-month-old male binturong, recently arrived from the Belgrade Zoo in Serbia, was named Chandler Bingturong, adding the binturong is already “stealing hearts with his curious and quirky charm.”
Wynne native honored for role in Hawaii wildfire recovery efforts
MEMPHIS, Tennessee — A Wynne native has been recognized for his contributions to the recovery efforts in Hawaii following the wildfires there in August 2023. Johnny Ratliff is a Wynne High School graduate and Construction Control Representative for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Memphis District. He was recently presented with a certificate of appreciation by members of the Hawaii Wildfires Recovery Field Office.
