Former University of Hawaii men’s volleyball stars Joe and Gage Worsley hosted the third annual Out of System Luau Tournament on Sunday in Kailua.

Over 130 teams competed in more than 10 divisions, with players from around the world taking part.

All the latest sports news from Hawaii’s sports station

Out of System started off as a podcast between the Worsley brothers and Kaneohe native Micah Ma’a, who is set to compete in his first Olympics. In addition to the content it creates, Out of System has since expanded as a brand and hosts clinics and other events across the country.

” The No. 1 things is that people enjoy it,” Joe Worsley said. “I wanted to come back every single year, so we’re always trying to add experiences to the level of competitions that we continue to rise and we want people to continue coming back. We’re bringing out more and more talent. The bigger this grows, the bigger I think we can bring other types of events like this to Hawaii in the future. And that’s the goal always with the sport.”

Added Gage Worsley: “We always, always said, ‘Hey, there’s potential here.’ Not really sure where the potential was. We know there’s a great community in Hawaii in terms of just community and volleyball, so we knew they would show up and that was awesome. … It’s been really awesome to see a lot of things going on.”
