Carthage Council sets date for impeachment hearing against mayor
CARTHAGE, Mo. — The Carthage City Council votes to proceed with the impeachment hearing against Mayor, Dan Rife. During another heated meeting Tuesday night (7/23), council members voted 6-to-3 to follow the advice of attorney, Paul Martin — special counsel to the city — and move forward with setting a date for an impeachment hearing.
Royals sign No. 6 pick
The Royals announced the signing of sixth overall pick Jac Caglianone. Bonus terms were not disclosed. The selection comes with a slot value of roughly $7.21M. Caglianone is a two-way player from the University of Florida. His higher upside professionally is as a position player. Caglianone topped 30 home runs in each of his final two seasons in Gainesville. He hit 35 longballs — second among Division I hitters behind No. 3 pick Charlie Condon’s 37 — with a .419/.544/.875 slash line as a junior. Caglianone walked at an 18.4 percent clip while striking out only 8.2 percent of the time. He has top-of-the-scale raw power that gives him the chance to hit in the middle of a lineup.

A warrant is out for the arrest of Malin, 33, on charges of drug possession and unlawful possession of a firearm. Malin is approximately five feet, five inches tall, weighs 120 pounds., and has brown hair and brown eyes.

Pickleball Concepts On Back Burner For Osage Beach For Now
The concept of pickleball coming to an Osage Beach city park anytime sooner than later is put on the back burner…at least for now. Only Three Arrests Made This Past Week For Osage Beach
Osage Beach police report three arrests for the week ending this past Sunday. Lieutenant Michael O’Day says a 24-year-old man from Camdenton and a 65-year-old man from Osage Beach were both arrested on Monday, the 15th, for failure to appear in court on traffic-related issues while a 52-year-old woman from Osage Beach was taken in on Sunday for driving revoked or suspended.

If you blinked, you missed it. It was brief, but there was an earthquake to make sure everyone in southeast Missouri was awake thanks to the ever-present New Madrid Fault. I noticed on the USGS earthquake map, there was a circle in southeast Missouri early Wednesday morning. The epicenter of this not large quake was just west of New Madrid, Missouri.
