Columbia woman receives probation for nailing man in basement
A Columbia woman who nailed a man shut in a basement pleads down to one of the three charges filed against her. Alexis Fenton had been charged with third-degree domestic assault, armed criminal action, and third-degree kidnapping. She pleaded guilty Monday to the domestic assault charge and was sentenced to five years supervised probation. If Fenton violates her probation, she faces four years in prison.

That program gives seniors and disabled individuals a credit for a portion of the real estate taxes or rent they paid for the year.
